SPITTING ON THE HANKY
Saw it again today:
Family,
Impending polite social
encounter,
Grubby kids,
Parent realises.
Out from on high comes the
Hanky
(I can’t spell the spitting
noise-
but that comes next).
Then the action starts.
Hard to tell whether they
were being cleaned up
Or having their faces
remodelled
It’s a wonder they didn’t
end up
With flat or moved noses
But the play dough faces
came clean
Not exactly shining , but
good enough.
Disgusting way to clean
children
But I’d give anything
To have had someone care
enough
To gob on a hanky
And sort me out
Too late now
All the dirt’s on the inside
